Another year drifting by!

It has been a long time since I posted here. Yikes!

This last year at work was unusually busy, plus 4 out of 5 of my kids where in car accidents spread throughout the year. All pretty serious.

Looking over last years goals I am disappointed.

I did work some on Arcane story arc some

I did set the foundation for Jack and the legend of the wierdling

Working out was going along nicely until real life happened, I hate that lol

Japaneese goal, not so good

Guitar goal, not so good

Oh well, looks at the calander I still have over three months left to try and to achieve something

Disappointment

I took a long weekend this last weekend and Sunday I began to reflect on the last year. I have awesome family and a great job. However, I have not accomplished anything really I had set out to do. I always find that I have a ton of excuses as to why I cannot get to the things that I want to accomplish in my life. Of course my top two priorities I have met in my life one is a strong family and the other is a job I love.

So with that said what about my other goals, the little ones I want for myself. I wrote a little here and there, I programmed a little here and there, I studied japanese a little here and there. I worked out a little here and there. See the pattern? I do! I know the one thing I sure accomplished and that was that I did watch a lot of TV.

So it stops now. The things I really want to accomplish for the year of 2010.

1. Work out (Get below 200lbs.)
2. Finish writing Arcane Magicka
3. Workout
4. Start on Jack and the legend of the wierdling
5. Workout, lol you get the picture
6. Lay the ground work for the story Gemini Divided
7. Learn japanese
8. Learn to program
9. Learn to play the guitar
10. Get a second job so we can start on our dream to build a new home and dog kennel
11. Still make sure I have time for friends and family

Long list but it is doable I know aslong as I kill the temptress known as the TV

So here is to a new beginning
Last night I looked over the story in progess
This morning I got up and swam for thirty minutes, I brought workout clothes so I can work out later today also. So so far so good, lets see if I can continue upon the path.

Getting It Going Again

Ok, I am getting excited about writing again. My coauthor and I have started a new project last night. Check out the blogs to the left (The Dyson Chronicles, Into The Night and Techno Gears). They are a team of Vampire Hunters Diaries. I am getting pumped about it. Granted it is a work in progress, but I have had some fun with it.

I am pumped up so much I have even added to our novel, The Betrayal. We are thousands of word over half way but still need to keep plugging away at it. I am just having difficulty getting pass this one scene but it is almost over.

I am sorry to hear that Holly Lisle is closing the thinking sideways course I am taking to new students. She is moving on to How to Revise Your Novel. I am thinking about taking that but haven’t made up my mind yet.

Here is to my coauthor and my friends for keeping me going with my creativity.

Straight to it then

I have finish reading Logos Run and I have also finished reading Harry Potter 1. I have now started Harry Potter 2.

I have added to the story( About 1000 words), it was about time to say the least for me. My co author had added a prologue earlier and I was just being a slacker.

I have talked to my Dad and he is getting stronger every day after his heart surgery so that is good.

Family Reunited?

Why does it take big events to make family come together? Do not get my wrong I am in constant contact with my Mom, Dad and Sister. However, this past week my dad had open heart surgery so I went to South Carolina to be with him and on the way I picked up my sister in Georgia. When we got to my dads house three of my aunts and an uncle were there from New York. I had not seen this side of my family in over 14 years. I realized how much I missed them.

The wild aunt that reminds me a lot of my sister and the aunt that I stayed with a lot because of her son, my cousin, was the same age as I was. We were born in the same year and in the same month. There is actually another cousin too, who was born in the same year and same month. We were all close. Why had I not kept up with my dads side of the family. I did not love them less, perhaps it was the distance or the fact with my mother and fathers divorce we just did not go to New York for visits anymore.

But that is in the past now. I am going to keep in touch with the family now and it was good to see them. For my dads heart surgery he pulled through in flying colors. Now comes the recovery and even though I am back in MO I will keep a close check on him.

July 4th has come and went. It was a good time to have family around and to sit and visit. I have strayed from my commitment over the past month to help and get ready for this big gathering. Now that the dust has settled I am ready to get started again. Actually I was ready to get started last night but my home computer had gotten infected with a virus so I was battling that for a while. But enough excuses. Here we go again.

OK as for my writing goals I have started a Holly Lisle course "How to think sideways"
I have also started on a P90X journey so hopefully it will help get me into shape and renew my energy levels.

So my coauthor has written more to the story Arcane Magicka which I need to edit
I have started to pick up reading again, which is always good
I need to start working on my japanese again
Other then that, this is where I am
I am not to happy with the progress so I need to kick my self in the pants
and hopefully I will get motivated. LOL we will see

Do not let life pass you by

Life is always in continual motion. No matter how hard you want life to slow down it never will. Moments pass you by both the good and the bad, even though you wish you can hold on to them all they slip away in to a haze of remembrance. Until one day on a special event they come flooding back to you in a wave of emotion.

This weekend proved to do just that. My second oldest daughter got married on Saturday. See All five my children have a special place in my heart, but Becca proved to be the most rebellious. She had the hardest time adapting to our new life in Missouri. So to say the least there were some interesting conflicts. My wife and I constantly worried about her. However despite these problems Becca grew up strong and has now shrugged off the road of adversity and is seeking a better path.

When I was walking her down the aisle and we had our first Father Daughter dance all I could think of was how proud I was of her and all the joy she had brought to our life. I had fogotten the turmoil that was caused between us. My family always remains strong towards one another even when we do not always see eye to eye (Thanks for that quality mom). Even though she is married now and has a son she will always be my little girl.

So enough of the sappy stuff. LOL.

It has been a week and I have started on the right track:
I have seen my daughter get married
I Added to the story The Betrayal, short as it may be
I Read more of Logos run
And I started to learn Japanese again.
Even though I have been sick all week so Yea me!!!
So here is to another week and hopefully I will continue stretching out towards my goals.

See everyone next week.
